Mounts
Mounts are obtained through an early quest that is available to players in starting areas.[1]
Summoning mounts
Animal husbandry mounts are summoned via an item that is obtainable from a stable (husbandry stall). De-summoning the mount returns the item back to the player's inventory.[4]

Flying mounts
Dragons (sometimes referred to as Wyrms or Wyrmlings) are able to be used as mounts, others will serve as NPCs: Some will be bosses or monsters that players can fight.[9]
- Dragon mounts are classed as royal mounts (tier 3) that are capable of true flight when utilized by Mayors of metropolis nodes or Kings and Queens of Guild castles.[10][11]
- Royal mounts are 3 or 4 times larger than gliding mounts (tier 2 mounts).[12]
- Certain tier 2 mount skins can be upgraded to tier 3 skins to accommodate the size difference.[12]
- Dragon eggs can also drop from legendary world bosses.[13][10] These will be temporary mounts that exist for a limited duration.[14][15][16]
We reserved it to very very few people per server, which is also going to make it a lot more meaningful when those flying dragons come into play for certain events.[11] – Steven Sharif

Gliding mounts
Gliding mounts are tier 2[12] winged mounts that jump/glide/hover close to the ground.[18] Unlike royal (tier 3) mounts, gliding mounts are not capable of true flight by default.[11]
- The higher the level of the mount, the further it can glide.[19]
- Gliding mounts gain the ability to fly for mayors of Metropolis (stage 6) nodes or Kings and Queens of guild castles.[19]
- Certain tier 2 mount skins can be upgraded to tier 3 skins if they also apply to royal mounts.[12]
- Gliding will require some level of player skill in relation to gauging the speed and distance needed to successfully glide to the desired location.[20]
Aquatic mounts
Aquatic mounts are Tier A mounts[23] that may be obtained from taming underwater creatures.[24]
- Aquatic mounts are faster in water and slower on land.[25]
- Aquatic mounts will be able to fully traverse naval areas and water areas.[26]
- An intrepid explorer could choose to traverse on his tide snapper alone.[26] – Sarah Flanagan
- Aquatic mounts will have utility skills that are useful in fishing, such as fish finding.[26]
- Mounts will have skills that relate to fishing in some way shape or form, least the water mounts. Whether that be getting out to a particular area, whether it be like some type of fish finding or chumming the area. There could even be benefits while fishing in the water while mounted, like, you're on the back of your turtle out there just sitting in the water casting your rod, or your line.[27] – Steven Sharif
- Animal husbandry will affect aquatic mounts.[28]

Crowdfunding mounts
Kickstarter/Summer crowdfunding mount rewards are obtained and utilized by applicable backers in the following way:[29]
- Basic mounts are obtained through an early quest that is available to all players in starting areas.
- Players assign cosmetic skins to a character on their account from the account management page.
- The skin can then be applied to change the appearance of the mount that was earned in game.
- This does not remove the skin itself. It can be applied again to any other applicable mount in the future.
- Players may remove the skin from a character and assign it to another character on their account.
- Skins can only ever be active on one character and one mount.
The Dawnbreaker mount skin is used in a similar fashion as described, but is only applicable to a certain class of mounts. Aquatic mount skins, like the Tidesnapper, are also used in a similar fashion, but are only applicable to the aquatic class of mounts.[29]

Racial mounts
Characters are able to obtain racial mounts via a quest in that race's starting area.[30][31]
Each starting area will have a different quest line that will yield a different type of starting mount. But by default you don't just choose human and here you get a horse, so to speak. Because you can be a human in our game and choose to start in a different racial area- at a different Divine Gateway- and as such then you could follow the quest line that gives you the Orc mount.[30] – Steven Sharif
Group mounts
Multi-passenger group mounts were unlocked during the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.[32]
Temporary mounts
Temporary mounts that drop from bosses age and die.[33]
Naming mounts
Mounts are able to be named by players.[34]
Mounted combat
Certain mounts will have combat abilities.[35]
- Players can't use their class skills while mounted.
- Mounts can be killed by players, but can be resurrected.[36]
