Mounts are obtained through an early quest that is available to players in starting areas.[2]
- Mounts can also be found in the wild and tamed.[3][4]
- There are three different tiers of mount.[5]
- Aquatic/swimming mounts are classified as tier A.[6][7]
- There are going to be classes of mounts; and you will be able to achieve skins in the game or you will be able to achieve different types of those classes and summon them.[8] – Steven Sharif
- Different tier mounts have different abilities that are unique to that tier. These may provide horizontal or vertical power gains.[9]
- Mounts can have up to four abilities, including speed boosts, offensive and defensive abilities.[10][11]
- Mount abilities are unlocked via the animal husbandry profession.[10]
- Mount speeds are determined by the base mount that skins are applied to.[12]
- Aquatic mounts are faster in water and slower on land. Land mounts are faster on land and slower in water.[13]
- Mounts will be purchasable from players utilizing Animal husbandry and taming.[14]
- Mounts will have rarities that they are either bred or acquired. These rarities may influence mount skills and visual effects, such as seasonal variations.[15]
- Fall damage that occurs while mounted will be first applied to the mount; and if the mount dies as a result, then the remaining damage may overflow onto the player, but this will be determined based on testing.[16]
- There may be emotes associated with mounts and pets, such as petting, hugging, or playing with them.[17]
- The majority of mounts are based on animals, but there may be some mounts based on inanimate objects in the future.[18]
