Elder Dragon of the Wood is a level 10+ Elder dragon raid boss in Alpha-1.[1]
- The Elder Dragon of the Wood is a forest dragon.[3]
- The Elder Dragon of the Wood is designed for 40-60 player raids.[4]
- The boss is area denial focused.[4]
- The boss fight is divided into multiple phases.[4]
- This boss is present in the Alpha-1 castle sieges area.[5]
- Teams who get the last hit on this boss will receive buffs that can be used in the siege battle.[5]
- Boss mechanics were designed by Chris Justo.[4]
Elder Dragon of the Wood mechanics
Phase 1 mechanics
- Stomp attack wave
- The boss emits a circular AoE attack that radiates outward for a significant distance from the boss.[4]
- The AoE applies poison DoTs to players who are hit by it.[4]
- This does more damage the further the player is from the boss.[4]
- Players can avoid the attack by jumping over the AoE.[4]
- Spit attack wave
- Boss targets 16 players (4 rounds each attacking 4 players) and launches poison puddles toward their location.[4]
- There is a short telegraph window that allows players to avoid being hit.[4]
- Poison puddles give a stacking poison DoT to players who are hit by them or who stand in them.[4]
- Off-tanks must stand in the puddles to soak them up, requiring healing focus on them.[4]
Phase 2 mechanics
- Rage attacks
- Stomp and Spit abilities are repeated randomly throughout the phase.[4]
- Breath attack
- Applies poison DoTs to players.[4]
