Farming is one of the currently known artisan skills. Farming in Ashes of Creation is similar to real world farming in that it includes both crop management, as well as livestock management. Livestock will be used to provide cooking ingredients such as milk, eggs, and bacon. [1] Farmable crops will have many applications, beyond just basic food items.

Known Crops and Livestock: [1] [2]

• Corn • Cabbage • Carrots • Tomatoes • Cows • Chickens • Pigs

Freehold Usage

Your freehold is approximately ½ acre [3], and you will need to manage how items and buildings are arranged to maximize adjacency bonuses. Artisan freehold features are also effected by adjacent terrain features in addition to the item and building arrangements within your land.[4] For example building next to a river provides a nearby source of clean freshwater, and will have a positive effect on your crops.[5] Freeholds will have expansions and upgrades available as node progression allows, some of these improvements will affect the size of plots available for crop planting.[4] Your freehold will also be effected by seasonal changes which will change what crops are available for planting as well as how your crop rotation is managed. [6][8]

NPC / Farmhand Assistance

Depending on node progression and type you will receive the opportunity to hire NPCs to work as farmhands on your freehold. These farmhands will be directable both online in game, and offline via an application or web interface. [7]

NPCs will be able to accept commands for the following instructions: • Crop Rotation Management • Plant or Harvest specific crops • Sell food or crops
