Cooking is a crafting profession in Ashes of Creation.[1][2][3]

To make cooking relevant, all food needs to do something.[4]Peter Pilone

Recipes are discovered and can be combined to create unique dishes.[4]

You'll be able to take the items that you cook and you will be able to place them in a business should you choose.[1]Steven Sharif

Crafted furniture may contain bonuses based on the quality and grade of the furniture.[5][6]

Cooking ingredients

Livestock (and crops) are used to provide cooking ingredients:[7]

Food and drink

Food and drink in Ashes of Creation will provide benefits (buffs) based on the type of consumable.[4]

  • The higher quality the food item, the greater duration of the buffs.[5]
  • Food buffs can be increased through the furniture system.[5]
For example if you have a completed dish and you process that dish inside of let's say an oven that has to be constructed and placed within a certain grade home, you can increase the effects.[5]Steven Sharif
  • Food buffs can also be proximity-based, such as with tavern consumables.[5]

Ashes of Creation is not a survival game. Characters will not need to eat food to stay alive.[4]

Brewer profession

Brewer is likely going to be a specialty of the Cooking profession rather than a stand-alone class.[9]

In terms of Brewer being its own class I'm not quite sure if we'll have enough drinks to support that. It's something we'll explore obviously but I'm not quite sure that we can come up with that many unique effects for to justify that being a thing but if you were to be a cook anyone to specialize in that you can do it.[9]Jeffrey Bard

Confectioner's delight

Confectioner’s Delight was a cosmetic building skin in a pre-order pack.[10]
