Chests (storage containers) are a type of furniture in Ashes of Creation.[1][2]

  • Players must obtain and place storage containers in their player-owned housing.[1]
  • Different grades of storage containers have different inventory capacities.[1]
    • There are restrictions on the grades of storage containers available in different types of houses.[1]
  • Access permissions can be set to allow others to access a player's personal storage devices.[3][4]
  • Players are prohibited from moving goods out of depositories within a node following a siege declaration against that node.[6]

Warehouses

Storage points exist at warehouses within nodes and in chests (storage containers) that can be placed in freeholds and static in-node housing.[9][1]

Household security

A permissions system will enable an owner to grant access to specific parts of their housing.[10][3][11]

It'll be a single owner based system for those types of properties- for properties in general, but it doesn't prevent players obviously from you know collaborating and pooling resources in order to achieve certain achievements in the game.[10]Steven Sharif

Carpentry

Carpentry (furniture making) is a Crafting profession in Ashes of Creation.[14][15][2]

Your ability to craft more luxurious furniture comes with how much of a master craftsman you become in the Furnishing profession.[2]Steven Sharif

Housing decorations

Players may decorate their player housing and other types of buildings.[20]

Quality furniture can be crafted in-game based on the skill of the craftsperson.[2]

  • Furnishing items with in-game functionality will be restricted entirely to those created by the Carpentry profession.[14]

Your ability to craft more luxurious furniture comes with how much of a master craftsman you've become in the furnishing profession... This isn't like you know, I want my house to look good, I got to fork over 50 bucks in cosmetics... Players can craft in-game based on their dedication and focus in that aspect the artisan tree.[2]Steven Sharif

Player inventory

Personal inventory limits[29][30] are tied to a backpack.[31] Material and gatherable items are subject to quantity rather than weight limits. Caravans and Mules are intended to be the primary mode of transportation of goods beyond these limits.[32][33]

  • Mules can carry roughly 10 times more than backpacks. Caravans can carry roughly 10 times more than mules.[34]
  • Caravans will have carrying capacity limits and customizable stats, such as defensive points, speed and number of hired NPC guards.[35]
    • In addition to expanded inventory capacity, caravans also provide ancillary benefits relating to successfully completing trade routes and other quests.[36]

Inventory capacity will be relatively limited for new characters.[36]

  • Inventory expansion and weight management training certificates are available in the Galleria at City stage economic nodes.[36][37]
  • A player's inventory has sections for different types of items. Quest items for example will not fill a player's regular inventory capacity.[36]

Item stacks will in general have quantity limits based on the type of item.[32]

  • The stacking limit of potions might be one hundred. The stacking limit of food items might be 999 or 1000.[32]

Backpacks

A backpack is an item crafted by artisans that provides personal inventory space.[31]

In order to roleplay you need to be able to represent kind of what your character is doing in that world and you know part of what animation is doing is creating these sockets on the let's say the belt or the backpack that you know can plug in certain types of props or items that are created by the character team.[38]Steven Sharif
